Not all lovers are best friends, but these two are. Sarah + Jacob met in high school, but it wasn’t until university that their bond deepened into something much more. Jacob began to notice the way Sarah’s laugh resonated differently and how her effortless energy put everyone around her at ease. Sarah started to notice that she could sense Jacob’s laughter before it even appeared on his face, just by the way his eyes changed. During Jacob’s long, exhausting days of study he found himself wanting to push the limits of exhaustion just to spend more time with her. And Sarah saw how every small word, every quiet action, became another piece of the bigger picture, fitting seamlessly into place. We hope you both continue to find your rhythm in one another—through love, laughter, and endless kitchen conversations over home-cooked meals.

I was meandering through Alinta + Simon’s engagement photos today (they have since got married and had a baby!) and I was feeling a whole world of emotions. I love how we have been on this journey with them through several milestones and captured moments that mean something REAL. I’ll share more on this later because I have some thoughts around what we do and those big life changing moments captured through the visual medium...but for now I wanted to share a single frame of these two souls. Real people with real emotions. I love how they are layered by nature and layered within one another. I love how they allowed us to be creative and playful. I love how this photo is timeless. I love how it reflects how entwined they are within one another and still radiant individuals in their own right. What a wild ride this life is.

Deckhouse is an elegant waterfront wedding venue nestled between Woolwich Dock and Clarkes Point Reserve in Sydney and features expansive and uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge, all while being just about the right distance away from all the hustle and bustle of city life and providing its own slice of serenity.
CAPACITY:
*The entire ground floor of @deckhousewoolwich can be opened up and seat 300 people or accommodate 600 people for a cocktail style reception.
*If you are looking for something a little smaller, the ground floor can be sectioned off into 2 or 3 separate rooms which each seating approx 80 people in each room. Flexibility is Deckhouse’s middle name!
*The Upper Deck upstairs can host a reception of approx 70 people seated and 100 for a cocktail style reception.

The brilliant thing about Deckhouse is that you can also have your ceremony on site too at Clarks Point with a breathtaking view of the Harbour behind you, and there is also the option to bring the ceremony indoors should it look like rain...You know we love a great wet weather backup option.

Somehow, 2 years has spun by since these two married. Ash + Adam. Two of the nicest, most genuine and grounded souls we have ever met. I love doing what we do because we witness how the universe brings two unbelievable people into one another’s orbit and how it feels like they were always meant to be with one another.
