Hannah + Jan’s Beachside Wedding at The Boathouse in Shelly Beach

They burst into our lives…ok, our inbox first but you know what we mean…with the most exuberant, joyful message of excitement, all the way from New York. Our hearts were full to overflowing just after our first Skype chat with them, with a quirky sense of humour that matched our own, and a similar mild obsession for all things crime related…ok, disclaimer, that would be just myself and Hannah!!
These two met at work, and corresponded via email for quite some time in purely a work capacity. The biggest thing to note here however is that Hannah thought she was communicating with a middle-aged lady, named Jan. Things quickly took a change for the better once they bumped into one another in person and Hannah discovered that Jan (pronounced Yahn) was very different to the person she pictured in her head.
They weaved together the details of their day that was completely unique to them. They married under the old fig tree at Shelly Beach. The same fig tree that Jan would play in as a child, climbing the branches that felt too great and tall, with roots that grew firmly into the ground. Here they bound themselves together, creating a new start to their very own great story, with roots that continue to grow firm and strong.
It was day filled with many unique moments like these…and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to meet these two amazing souls and for the laughter we shared on their day.
