We met Hayley + Stewart in a small little cafe in a suburb we weren’t too familiar with earlier in the year. The air was filled with the scent from a smashed small perfume bottle I had made, with notes of clove and mandarin filling the air we breathed in. As unfamiliar as we were with the area we met up in, the familiarity swelled back in our bones as our conversations with these two souls deepened and we learned more about them as people and companions in life. Their warmth rivalled the aroma surrounding us, and their calming energy was infectious and beautiful. With their wedding being whisked away in the breathing Hartley Valley at the tranquil Collits Inn, there really would not have been a more suited venue for these two to celebrate their union. There were tears and there was also an intense overflow of love, from the moments before the ceremony started to the very end. A little teddy pinned to the underside of Hayley’s dress where she kept the memory of her late friend close to her was only topped by the incredible honour of having that friend’s father walk Hayley down the aisle in the physical absence of her late father not able to do so. So many beautiful moments only to be created by equally as beautiful and loving people. Hayley + Stew – what an honour it was for us. We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect way to close out our 2016. You guys, are wonderful.
A special thanks to the amazing Caitlyn from Collit’s Inn and her team – you guys were nothing short of fabulous the entire day.
